Note on Address Windowing Extensions
By default, the AWE that are available on Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server are used for memory allocation (however, it is possible to choose standard memory allocation in the General Test Options). The AWE-based tests will NOT run by default, as they need some user privileges that are NOT enabled by default. To solve this problem, please follow these steps:
-
Make sure you're logged on with administrative privileges
-
Go to the Local Security Policy (located in the Administrative Tools folder)
-
Choose Local Policies -> User Rights Assignment
-
Add your user name (or group name, e.g. Administrators) to the Lock Pages in Memory policy
-
Log off and log on to system again. The tests should run fine now
